Hermit Lakes 100 Year Celebration

The 100-year anniversary for Hermit Lakes Recreation, Inc. will be in 2027.  To help commemorate such an important event, a quilt is being made using blocks designed by members. Vicki Bever and Jan Knutson will be making the quilt.   All member finished blocks will be collected at the annual meeting in June. If you won’t be there – make sure you get your block to the Club by then. The finished quilt will be presented at the 2027 Centennial Celebration, encased in a frame and then hung in the barn.

How do I participate?

Send an email to [email protected] saying you’d like to do a block for the Centennial Quilt. Include your name, address, phone number and plot number. You will then receive a 9” square of material to use as the back of your block along with instructions.

 

I don’t quilt but I want my family represented on the quilt – what do I do?

Send your email request to [email protected]  If you know a quilter – ask if they would help you make a block. Check with your local fabric store or on-line. You can also reach out - we may be able to help.  

We have 2 plots – do we get 2 blocks for the quilt?

Not right now. We’re currently just doing one block per family. We need to see how many members are going to participate. 

When will I get my block and instructions?

A block and instructions will be mailed to members that have requested a block the first part of December.

Will there be extra blocks available for prior members?

We want to give current members adequate time to participate. Prior/current member names can be included on the current member block. 

What’s the design of the quilt?

The colors are earthy greens, browns and blues
