Become a Member of Hermit Lakes Recreation, Inc.
Hermit Lakes Recreation, Inc. offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the beauty, recreation, and community of one of Colorado's most scenic mountain destinations. Membership provides access to a wide range of outdoor activities and privileges, including fishing, hunting, boating, shooting range access, and the use of a private building plot in accordance with Hermit Lakes governing documents.
Whether you are purchasing a membership, transferring a membership to a family member, or updating ownership information, this page will guide you through the application process.
Before You Begin
Please complete the New Membership or Transfer Application and submit all required documentation. Applications may be submitted by:
Emailing completed forms to [email protected]
Mailing forms to the Hermit Lakes Secretary
Delivering forms in person to the Hermit Lakes office
Membership applications are reviewed by the Board of Directors for approval.
New membership certificates cannot be issued until all requirements have been met.
Required Documents
The following documents must be completed and submitted with your application:

Complete the membership application with all required ownership and contact information. NOTE: If you submit the electronic copy you do not need to mail it in.
On-Site Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) Inspection
All membership sales and transfers require compliance with Hinsdale County septic inspection requirements. Recent county regulations require inspections for all transfers, including family transfers. Documentation of compliance must be provided before membership approval can be finalized.
Membership Fee
Application fees must be submitted separately from the application paperwork. Please read the New Member Instruction document in full.
New Membership Application: $100
Membership Responsibilities
As a member of Hermit Lakes Recreation, Inc., you agree to:
Follow all Hermit Lakes Rules and Regulations.
Assume responsibility for your guests while on Corporation property.
Comply with all applicable Hinsdale County building and septic requirements.
Use recreational privileges for personal enjoyment and not for commercial purposes.
Maintain compliance with all membership obligations and assessments.
Membership Approval Process
Submit your completed application and required documents.
Submit the applicable membership fee.
The Board of Directors will review your application.
Upon approval, the current membership certificate must be surrendered (for transfers).
A new membership certificate will be issued once all requirements have been satisfied.
